Can Facebook Be Used As An Educational Tool __HOT__

Since we saw how to use Facebook for educational purposes from the Facebook learning point of view. Let us now also have a look at how we can put in place this from a Facebook teaching point of view. A teacher may know how to use Facebook as a teaching tool. As a teacher, it is necessary for the flow of information to students is accurate, safe, and exciting to handle. It cannot be a moral way of learning; otherwise, it will be another classroom as opposed to Facebook in the class. Let us look at how a teacher can convert her school classroom into Facebook in the class.

can facebook be used as an educational tool

Facebook for the educational purpose wasn't created only for education or for the classroom. It is more of an interactive tool to break the barriers of the traditional educational system. Why? Because if the world is going digital in every other sense, why should education stay behind? Social learning has proven to be more effective than classroom learning. Hence, the incorporation of Facebook in the classroom.

Education is an essential part of a student's life. This study goes well is the advantage of Facebook in the classroom or using e-Learning. It is best to take good advantage of the technology and put it to some good use. This is the primary aim of using Facebook for educational purposes. Technology or social media like Facebook or Twitter moves faster than any other medium is the reason it works. This choice of tool is the best when it comes to what works best for students.

Sprout allows you to also monitor and manage multiple accounts across different networks, which is ideal for educational institutions. Each department or teacher at your school might have their own separate social media accounts for specific information, and a social media management tool can help you ensure the right posts are going out on each of these accounts.

i think facebook is doing a great deal in eucation and socialization than television and radio.i am writing a project on the dominance of facebook over use of television in educational broadcasting.my care study is my university (madonna university). i will appreciate a little help from you.

This is a very inspiring story. Educators need to know what their learners are using (social media) and align their teaching to such social media. When I did my postgraduate educational Technology studies at the University of Cape Town we used various social media e.g. Facebook,Twitter and also Wikispaces for creating blogs. We could reflect on each others reflections on Wikispaces.

Many previous studies of social networking have focused on identity presentation, privacy, and how social networks form. Much of the popular response to the advent of web 2.0 tools is that they can have a detrimental effect on students by being nothing more than trivial distractions from serious study. However, Stella Wen Tian of the University of Science & Technology of China (Suzhou Campus) and Angela Yan Yu, Douglas Vogel and Ron Chi-Wai Kwok of City University of Hong Kong, suggest that students' online social networking directly influences social learning and can positively influence academic learning.

Another great advantage of social media in education is distance learning opportunities. There are many disadvantaged students who are not able to acquire formal education by attending regular classes in an educational institution. With the help of various online tools along with social media, modern educators are able to attract students through distance learning programs. Soon, this will be an inseparable part of our modern education system. Today, hosting live lectures via Skype or webinars via WebinarJam is the way forward to allowing students who live in remote areas of the world to access education.

Technological advancements have immensely transformed our lives, including how we communicate with one another. Social media has become a life-changing technological phenomenon, making interactions and information sharing much more convenient. Facebook, as a form of social media, is known to be a rich source of entertainment and a useful platform for people to meet and keep in touch virtually. Besides fun and interactions, people have also started using Facebook for educational purposes, especially those in the education industry such as educators and students; they have turned this social media into a platform to share and expand their knowledge in many ways (Mazman & Usluel, 2010). This article will explore why Facebook can be an educational tool.

During the COVID-19 period, education has been required to reform and adapt to a modern, imposed paradigm in which all of its activities must be delivered in a completely digital format. As a result, in light of this pressing need, educational institutions should either repurpose existing facilities, such as learning management systems, or develop new online education options in a timely manner. In view of the above, this paper proposes an alternative educational tool over Facebook by exploiting the technology of social networking. This Facebook-based application was used as the sole platform for supporting asynchronous learning of high school students in the tutoring of mathematics during the COVID-19 lockdown. This modern educational approach through Facebook encompasses interactive software which involves an e-class environment with social characteristics, multimedia-based learning material delivery and learning activities and assessment of different types. The presented Facebook-based interactive educational software has been evaluated by school students with very encouraging results.

Social learning tools are tools used for pedagogical[1] and andragogical[2] purposes that utilize social software and/or social media in order to facilitate learning through interactions between individuals and systems.[3] The idea of setting up "social learning tools" is to make education more convenient and widespread.[4] It also allows an interaction between users and/or the software which can bring a different aspect to learning. People can acquire knowledge by distance learning tools, for instance, Facebook, Twitter, Khan Academy and so on. Social learning tools may mediate in formal or informal learning environments to help create connections between learners, instructors and information.[3] These connections form dynamic knowledge networks.[3] Social learning tools are used in schools for teaching/learning and in businesses for training. Within a school environment, the use of social learning tools can affect not only the user (student) but his/her caretaker as well as his/her instructor. It brings a different approach to the traditional way of learning which affects the student and his/her support circle. Companies also use social learning tools. They used them to improve knowledge transfer within departments and across teams. Businesses use a variety of these tools to create a social learning environment.[5] They are also used in company settings to help improve team work, problem solving, and performance in stressful situations.[5]

Social learning tools are used for people who are willing to share their good ideas/thoughts with someone else. The ideas can be related to either the academic studies or any other daily skills that we want to share with others. Social learning tools connect learning to our daily lives. It creates a learning environment more truthful to today's society. There are a couple of common elements that should be present in a social learning tool. Technology should be involved to allow physical and cognitive learning. There should be interactions between the people who use the tool and interactions with the software. Another element is trust. Users should trust the software and what other people have created.[6]

Blogger is a site in which users can create their own blog. Blogger can be used in an educational context. A teacher could create a blog in which students could interact on. This would allow students to improve their writing and planning skills. Students would have to think about how they would write out their information on the blog in order to convey their message properly. Blogger provides opportunities for students to share what they wrote with their peers and with their caretakers. The blogs could also be a form of electronic portfolios that could show what the students created during the school year. Blogger has settings in which only people with permission can see or write on the blogs themselves.[7]

Facebook is an online communication tool that allows individuals to interact with each other within a virtual community. It has become the most popular social networking site since its beginnings in 2004. Facebook was co-founded in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg with his roommates and colleagues from Harvard University.[8] Zuckerberg is presently the CEO of Facebook.[8] This online communication tool can be used for personal and for professional purposes. Technology plays an integral part of students' daily lives and teachers will need to find ways of implementing these technologies into their classrooms.[9] Research is currently being conducted on the benefits of implementing Facebook in educational settings and how it could potentially be used as a tool for teaching and learning, even if it is known for social networking in the first place.[10] For example, Facebook can be used to create discussion groups for group projects to divide the work and stay up to date with each other. It can also be used to share articles. Educators can also create professional Facebook accounts for their classrooms, which could be potentially used as a dashboard to upload course material and assignments. It can also be used to create polls to get some feedback and suggestions on the course that the teacher would like to implement. The objective is to improve the methods of teaching as well as the learning experience of students.[11] With the use of technologies, students are more engaged in their learning.[4] 350c69d7ab
